The WSCB Multi-Agency Training Directory details the current training courses which are available to professionals, supporting and encouraging a culture of continuous learning and improvement.  The training directory offers a programme of multi-agency targeted and specialist safeguarding courses which are developed using learning from local and national reviews, research, quality assurance activity by WSCB, local policies and procedures.

The programme for 2018-2019 will be further enhanced with the addition of two new courses which are expected to be launched in the coming months.

We have just agreed new training dates for four of our current courses, which are now available for booking:

1. Working Together to Achieve Effective Referrals (half day - 3.5 hours, targeted training)
For practitioners who are in position of making and taking referrals.  The course will provide an understanding of how to make a quality safeguarding referral, using early help pre/post single assessment action plans, single assessments, through to using the Multi-Agency Referral Form (MARF).

2. Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) - Responsibilities, Reporting and Responding to CSE (1 day - 7 hours, targeted training)
For all practitioners that have direct contact with children, young people and families - 'Think Family'.  Looks at CSE in detail, what it is, who it effects, risks and the importance of how professionals respond including reporting procedures.

3. Workshop - Learning from Serious Case Reviews (half day - 3 hours, targeted training)
A workshop that provides all multi-agency staff with the opportunity to access learning that has been gathered from a Serious Case Review completed by WSCB.  An ideal opportunity for practitioners to update their own professional development.

4. Protective Behaviours - Foundation Level (2 day course - 12 hours, specialist training)
Aimed at multi-agency staff working directly with children and young people.  The course will enable participants to recognise Early Warning Signs of feeling safe, looking at ways individuals can build network of support if required, keeping themselves safe as well as developing skills to put into practice.

Further dates will be added to other existing WSCB training courses over the coming weeks.
