Forced marriage is one in which either or both people involved do not consent to the marriage. Victims can be forced into marriage in different ways which may include physical, psychological, financial, sexual or emotional pressure. Any marriage involving someones who lacks the capacity to give consent is a forced marriage. 

Forced marriage it illegal in the UK. 

A campaign pack has been produced by the Home Office designed for all partner agencies, to promote and raise awareness. The pack includes:

  • Posters - in both English and community languages
  • Videos
  • Social media static images
