Working Together 2018 - new ways of working

In July 2018, revised statutory guidance was issued, Working Together to safeguard children. Within the guidance, the local authority, police and health now have an equal and shared duty to work together (in partnership with other local agencies) to make arrangements to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in a  local area.

The safeguarding partners are required to publish the arrangements by 29th June 2019 and the Warwickshire LSCB is in the process of finalising its documentation following a period of discussion and consultation at Board meetings.

Part of this work involved consideration of the current multi-agency training and education arrangements. Partners have agreed to adopt a 'learning hub' model and work is underway to develop a learning strategy to support this model.

I, as the Interim Chair for WSCB, would like to confirm that the current WSCB training programme will end on 31st March 2019 when this year's programme completes. I am aware that this change may be unsettling and I will make every effort to progress this work as quickly as possible.
