Warwickshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSCP) are pleased to announce the publication of a NEW Safeguarding Strategy for Adolescents 2026-2029. This replaces Warwickshire’s Exploitation Strategy recognising that adolescents face a wider range of risks outside of the home, not just exploitation.
WSCP made a commitment to develop a joint approach to ensure children are safe within the community from risk of harm outside their home and are visible to services. This resulted in the new strategy being written in conjunction with partner agencies including health, education, police and social care.
A crucial component of the strategy involved capturing the voice of adolescents within Warwickshire to ensure we got it right for young people and included their concerns and worries about keeping safe outside of the home. As a result, we have produced a Version for Young People as well as a short-animated film.
The strategy has been developed in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026 and reflects the national shift towards Family Help, contextual safeguarding and stronger multi-agency collaboration.
