There two different Faith Forums that Warwickshire Safeguarding work in partnership with, the Coventry and Warwickshire Safeguarding in Faith Forum and the Warwick District Faith Forum (WDFF), with the aim to work together raising awareness of safeguarding amongst the different faith groups.
Coventry and Warwickshire Safeguarding in Faith Forum
Coventry and Warwickshire Safeguarding Partnerships recognised the need for a group to support safeguarding in faith and raise relevant issues. The multi-faith forum group meet quarterly to increase awareness of safeguarding issues and support with community faith groups. The key objectives for the Faith Forum are:
- Promotion and sharing of good practice on all aspects of safeguarding across diverse faiths and cultures through raised awareness of the safeguarding boards child protection work
- Signposting a range of tools, including training to raise awareness of safeguarding issues for Coventry and Warwickshire's diverse communities and faith groups
- Working together between statutory and faith organisations to provide effective services for Coventry and Warwickshire's diverse communities and faith groups with particular reference to recently arrived communities
- To ensure that the relevant Safeguarding Boards are made aware of any serious concerns
- To provide feedback to safeguarding boards in relation to relevant issues
The Coventry and Warwickshire Safeguarding Faith Forum welcome all community faith groups.
